# Settings: how Emplio works for your business

> Choose model quality, approvals, rich replies, the morning brief and end-of-day report times, and the look of the app, tab by tab.

Settings apply to everyone in the business, from the next message. Everyone can look; only owners and admins can change them. Open it from your name at the bottom of the sidebar, then **Settings**.

Also here: **Brief Emplio** to run the setup chat again, **Bring your memory**, and **Always allowed**, the actions you told it to stop asking about.

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| - | - | - |
| **Quality** | **Free**, **Save money**, **Default** or **Best quality**. Better models handle harder jobs but cost more. | Default |
| **Max steps per reply** | Stops a reply after this many actions, so a stuck one can't run up costs. | 60 |
| **Before sending or changing things** | **Ask first**: you approve each one. **Just do it**: no approval, but nobody checks. | Ask first |
| **Rich replies** | Tables, charts and buttons in replies. Makes each reply a bit pricier. | Off |

Under **Advanced** you can pick each model yourself, set the reasoning effort, or add your own OpenRouter key.

## Context

| Setting | What it does | Default |

| **Compact at** | Past this size, older messages are summarised to keep replies cheap. Nothing is deleted. | 100,000 tokens |

## Sandbox

| **Command timeout** | Stops a command on Emplio's computer that runs longer than this. | 120 seconds |

## Schedule

The Schedule tab

| Setting | What it does | Default |
| - | - | - |
| **Background rounds** | How often it looks around on its own in the working day. **Off** means it only works when messaged. | Every 2 hours |
| **Morning brief** | Your brief of the day, and the start of its working day. | 9am |
| **End-of-day report** | What got done, what didn't and what's next. | 7pm |
| **Staff briefs and reports** | Each team member gets their own brief and report at the same times. | On |
| **Read chats after** | How long a chat must be quiet before Emplio reads it for its rounds. | 10 minutes |

## Appearance

Pick **Match this device**, **Light** or **Dark**. This is just for you, on this device, and applies at once.
