# Work: tasks for your team and for Emplio

> See what needs you, what Emplio is doing, what is coming up and what repeats. Add tasks for people or for Emplio, and mark them done.

**Work** in the sidebar is the business's to-do list, for people and for Emplio. Emplio adds and updates tasks from chats too.

## What you see

| Section | What's in it |
| - | - |
| **Needs you** | Your tasks due today or late, and Emplio's tasks waiting for your look. |
| **Emplio is on it** | Tasks Emplio is doing. |
| **Coming up** | Everyone else's open tasks, soonest first. |
| **Repeats** | Work that runs on a schedule or when something happens. See [Automations](https://docs.emplio.app/guide/automations.md). |
| **Done this week** | What got finished. Press it to open the list. |

Use the menu at the top to show **Everyone**, **Mine** or **Emplio**, or search tasks. Owners and admins see every task. Staff see the ones they asked for or have to do.

## Add a task

**1. Type it**

In **Add a task**, write what's to be done, like "Send Acme the revised quote".

**2. Pick who and when**

Choose a person or **Emplio**, and a due date if there is one. Then press **Enter**.

Emplio starts its own tasks at their due time, or straight away without one. When a person's task is due, Emplio reminds them. Two days late, it tells whoever asked.

## Open a task

Click a task to change its **Status**, **Who**, **Due** and **How to do it**. For Emplio's tasks, press **Start now**, or open its work on it. Press **Mark done** when it's finished.
