One command downloads Emplio to ~/emplio, asks three questions, and starts it in Docker. At the end it prints a link that signs you in as the owner.
1

Get Docker ready

On a Mac or Windows, install Docker Desktop and start it first. On Windows, run the command below in a WSL terminal. On a Linux server, the installer offers to install Docker for you.
2

Run the installer

Answer three questions

  1. Your OpenRouter key, for the AI. Get one at openrouter.ai/keys. The installer checks it with OpenRouter.
  2. Your email, for your owner account.
  3. Where is this running? Pick On this computer, just for me or On a server with its own web address. For a server, type your web address, or leave it empty for a free one. See Run it on a server.

Open your sign-in link

When it says Emplio is ready, open the link it prints. It signs you in as the owner and works only once. On a computer it opens by itself, and Emplio is at http://localhost:3000.

Computer or server

Over SSH, the installer picks server for you; press Enter to keep it.

Add your team

Add people from the Team page. Until you set up email, their sign-in codes go to the log:
To have codes emailed, see Optional features.
To install somewhere other than ~/emplio, set EMPLIO_DIR before the command. To run your own changes to the code, see Build from source.
